背景介绍
UBE2W(Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 W) is also named as UBC16. The deduced 162-amino acid protein has an approximately 150-amino acid catalytic core, termed the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme (UBC) domain, which contains 2 nuclear localization signals at its C-terminal end. RT-PCR detected ubiquitous UBC16 expression, with highest expression in heart, brain, liver, and pancreas(PMID:16368532). Ube2w can form nuclear homodimers(PMID:21229326). It has 3 isoforms produced by alternative splicing.
