PURB (Purine-rich element-binding protein B) is a ubiquitously expressed DNA/RNA-binding protein. It localizes to both the nucleus and cytoplasm, reflecting its dual role in transcriptional regulation and RNA metabolism. Its primary function is to bind purine-rich sequences to control gene expression, cell cycle progression, and differentiation. The observed molecular weight of PURB by SDS-PAGE is 33-40 kDa, which is close to its predicted molecular weight of ~33 kDa.
