背景介绍

NXF3 (nuclear RNA export factor 3) belongs to the NXF family of RNA transport proteins, predominantly expressed in human testis cells. Unlike canonical NXF1, it bears truncated functional domains and lacks typical RNA-binding capacity. It mediates nucleocytoplasmic shuttling of snoRNAs and regulates TGF-β3 mRNA trafficking independent of bulk mRNA export. Recent studies confirm its oncogenic role in gastric cancer, where elevated NXF3 accelerates tumor proliferation, invasion and predicts poor patient survival. It acts as a prognostic biomarker and a potential therapeutic target for gastrointestinal malignancies. (PMID: 29021253)
