背景介绍

NBPF1 (Neuroblastoma Breakpoint Family Member 1) belongs to the neuroblastoma breakpoint family, a group of recently duplicated genes primarily located in segmental duplications on chromosome 1, characterized by tandemly repeated copies of DUF1220 protein domains. It was originally identified in a neuroblastoma patient through disruption by a constitutional chromosomal translocation t(1;17)(p36.2;q11.2). NBPF1 is expressed in the non-proliferative suprabasal layers of squamous stratified epithelia in human skin and cervix.
