Human IgA1 is one of the two subclasses of Immunoglobulin A (IgA), the most abundantly produced antibody in the human body . While IgA is the predominant antibody class at mucosal surfaces (such as the gut, respiratory, and urogenital tracts), IgA1 is the dominant subclass in the blood (serum), comprising approximately 85-90% of total serum IgA .
