ZNF821, the human protein that contains the STPR domain, is a zinc finger protein of unknown function. The defining structural characteristic of ZNF821 is the presence of two C2H2-type zinc finger motifs . These motifs are small protein domains that fold around a central zinc ion, enabling the protein to interact directly with DNA. (PMID: 20795678)
