背景介绍

Sterile alpha motif domain-containing protein 9(SAMD9), aslo named as C7orf5, DRIF1, KIAA2004, OEF1, plays a role in growth factor signal transduction. SAMD9 is a ubiquitously expressed cytoplasmic protein encoded by two juxtaposed single-exon genes on chromosome 7q21(PMID: 34675305). Overexpression of SAMD9 protein in tissue culture results in reduction of cell proliferation rate and invasion index, and increasing activity of caspase 3(PMID: 25450373). An important paralog of this gene is SAMD9L. Observed MW of SAMD9 is from 148 kDa(PMID: 21248034).
