背景信息
CD36 is widely recognized as a plasma membrane protein. On the cell membrane, CD36 and caveolin-1 can co-polymerize in plasma membrane domains called caveolae, which are specialized cell-membrane microdomains that are rich in cholesterol, sphingomyelin, signaling molecules, and receptor proteins and promote the integration of signaling cascades. CD36 can be transported to organelle and cell membranes by intracellular and extracellular vesicles and can regulate FA uptake and the balance of energy metabolism.
