RBM18 (RNA Binding Motif Protein 18) functions as an RNA-binding protein and plays roles in various biological processes, including mRNA processing, cell cycle regulation, and ribosome assembly. Additionally, RBM18 is involved in transcriptional regulation and signal transduction. In cancer research, the expression levels of RBM18 are associated with the invasive and metastatic capabilities of tumors. For instance, RBM18 may act as a tumor suppressor in certain types of cancer by regulating the expression of specific genes to inhibit tumor cell proliferation. Therefore, RBM18 is considered a potential tumor suppressor.
