Product Information
KE10212 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse gp130/IL6ST ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse gp130/IL6ST. The assay recognizes mouse gp130/IL6ST. An antibody specific for mouse gp130/IL6ST has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse gp130/IL6ST protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse gp130/IL6ST is added to detect the captured mouse gp130/IL6ST protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
GP130, also known as IL6ST, is a transmembrane protein that serves as a shared signal-transducing subunit for a variety of cytokines, including interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-11, IL-27, leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF), oncostatin M (OSM), cardiotrophin-1 (CT-1), cardiotrophin-like cytokine (CLC)/CLC factor 1 (CLCF-1), and neuropoietin. This protein is highly conserved among vertebrates and plays a crucial role in mediating interactions between a wide range of immune and non-immune cells.
