Product Information

KE10194 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse Tie-2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse Tie-2. The assay recognizes mouse Tie-2. An antibody specific for mouse Tie-2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse Tie-2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse Tie-2 is added to detect the captured mouse Tie-2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information

Tie-2 (also known as TEK or CD202b) is a receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) critical for vascular development, angiogenesis, and endothelial cell function. Tie-2 is essential for blood vessel maturation. Genetic knockout of Tie-2 or Ang-1 in mice leads to embryonic lethality due to defects in cardiac development and vascular remodeling. Ligand-induced Tie-2 phosphorylation activates PI3K-AKT (promoting survival) and MAPK pathways (regulating proliferation and migration).
