Product Information
KE10120 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse Chemerin ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse Chemerin. The assay recognizes mouse Chemerin. An antibody specific for mouse Chemerin has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse Chemerin protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse Chemerin is added to detect the captured mouse Chemerin protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Chemerin, also named as TIG2 and RARRES2, is adipocyte-secreted protein (adipokine) that regulates adipogenesis, metabolism and inflammation through activation of the chemokine-like receptor 1 (CMKLR1). Its other ligands include G protein-coupled receptor 1 (GPR1) and chemokine receptor-like 2 (CCRL2). It positively regulates adipocyte differentiation, modulates the expression of adipocyte genes involved in lipid and glucose metabolism and might play a role in angiogenesis, a process essential for the expansion of white adipose tissue. Chemerin have both pro- and anti-inflammatory properties depending on the modality of enzymatic cleavage by different classes of proteases.
