Product Information
KE10196 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse CD40 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse CD40. The assay recognizes mouse CD40. An antibody specific for mouse CD40 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse CD40 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse CD40 is added to detect the captured mouse CD40 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CD40, also named as TNFRSF5 and Bp50, is a type I transmembrane protein that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) family. CD40 is expressed on B cells, dendritic cells (DCs), monocytes, platelets, and macrophages as well as by non-hematopoietic cells such as myofibroblasts, fibroblasts, epithelial, and endothelial cells. It is a receptor for TNFSF5/CD40L. CD40L/CD40 interactions are essential for immunoglobulin (Ig) isotype switching, germinal center formation and the development of B cell memory.
