Product Information
KE10175 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse CD28 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse CD28. The assay recognizes mouse CD28. An antibody specific for mouse CD28 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse CD28 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse CD28 is added to detect the captured mouse CD28 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CD28 is a critical co-stimulatory molecule expressed on T cells and is essential for their activation and proliferation. It interacts with its ligands CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) on antigen-presenting cells (APCs) to provide a second signal necessary for T cell activation. CD28 signaling enhances T cell receptor (TCR) activation, leading to the production of cytokines such as IL-2, IL-4, and IL-10 and promoting T cell survival and differentiation. It also plays a role in the maintenance of immune homeostasis and regulatory T cell function.
