Product Information
KE10165 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse CD107b / LAMP2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse CD107b / LAMP2. The assay recognizes mouse CD107b / LAMP2. An antibody specific for mouse CD107b / LAMP2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse CD107b / LAMP2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse CD107b / LAMP2 is added to detect the captured mouse CD107b / LAMP2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CD107b (lysosome-associated membrane protein 2, LAMP-2) can be used as a functional marker for immune cell activation and lysosomal degranulation. It plays a critical role in lysosomal function associated with the degradation of extracellular components, such as bacterial and viral pathogens, and intracellular proteins and organelles through the chaperone-mediated autophagy process. The cell surface expression of LAMP-2 has also been related to pleiotropic effects on physiological events such as cell apoptosis, energy regulation, selective protein degradation, regulation of transcription factors, and aging associated with the pathogenesis of neurodegeneration, cancer, and kidney disorders.
