背景介绍
KIAA1024 negatively regulates the activities of mTORC1 and mTORC2 by stabilizing the MTOR complex inhibitor DEPTOR, thus inhibiting cell overgrowth. In cultured hippocampal neurons and PC12 cells, knocking down KIAA1024 can activate mTOR signal and promote neurite outgrowth. However, in zebrafish and mouse transplanted tumor models, deletion of this gene will significantly enhance the tumor formation induced by HRAS(G12V), suggesting that it has antitumor effect.
