背景介绍

JMJD 7 (Jumongji domain containing 7) is a protein containing JmjC domain, belonging to 2- ketoglutarate (2-OG)-dependent dioxygenase family. As an important epigenetic regulatory factor, JMJD7 plays a key role in many physiological and pathological processes such as gene transcription, cell metabolism and bone development (PMID: 41922800). Early biochemical and biophysical studies show that JMJD 7 has terminal endoprotease and aminopeptidase activities, and can target and cut the tail of histone with methylated arginine (such as H2, H3 or H4), thus participating in regulating the stability and transcription of nucleosomes. Abnormal expression of JMJD7 in various solid tumors. For example, it often fuses with phosphatase PLA2G4B, and participates in the development and progress of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and other malignant tumors. It can also form homodimer (PMID: 29915238).
