背景信息
TNFSF13, also known as A Proliferation-Inducing Ligand (APRIL), is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily that plays significant roles in immune homeostasis, cell proliferation, and apoptosis of certain tumor cell lines. TNFSF13 is secreted from myeloid cells and is best characterized for its effects on immune cells. It plays critical roles in T cell immunity, promoting the IL-17 response and inhibiting the Th2 response, which is important in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. TNFSF13 interacts with two receptors: B cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and transmembrane activator and calcium modulator and cyclophilin ligand interactor (TACI). These interactions have been shown to regulate B cell activity and can induce tumor cell invasion and immunosuppression.
