KE00619 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human EPN2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human EPN2. The assay recognizes human EPN2. An antibody specific for human EPN2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human EPN2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human EPN2 is added to detect the captured human EPN2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
EPN2 (EPS 15 interacting protein 2) is a protein that interacts with clathrin and adaptor-related protein complex 2, alpha 1 subunit. EPN2 is found in a brain-derived clathrin-coated vesicle fraction and localizes to the peri-Golgi region and the cell periphery. EPN2 is crucial for the activation of the Notch signaling pathway through the internalization of Notch ligands. This pathway is essential for cell fate determination and tissue development. In addition, Aberrant endocytosis and signaling pathways involving EPN2 may contribute to tumor growth and progression.
