KE00911 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human ACVRL1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human ACVRL1. The assay recognizes human ACVRL1. An antibody specific for human ACVRL1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human ACVRL1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human ACVRL1 is added to detect the captured human ACVRL1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
ACVRL1, also known as activin receptor-like kinase 1 (ALK1), is a type I transmembrane serine/threonine kinase receptor belonging to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily. The ACVRL1 receptor consists of an extracellular ligand-binding domain, a single transmembrane region, and an intracellular kinase domain. ACVRL1 and Endoglin are involved in angiogenesis, in which ACVRL1 drives the stalk cell phenotype in cooperation with Notch signaling, whereas tip cells exhibit only minor ACVRL1 activity.
