背景介绍
EID3 (EP300‑interacting inhibitor of differentiation 3) is a nuclear transcriptional repressor belonging to the EID protein family. It is predominantly expressed in testis and binds to CBP/p300 co‑activators to suppress nuclear‑receptor‑dependent gene transcription and restrain cellular differentiation. As a component of SMC5‑SMC6 complex, it participates in DNA double‑strand‑break repair and telomere homeostasis. Aberrant EID3 overexpression drives tumor‑cell proliferation and correlates with poor clinical outcomes in glioblastoma and colorectal carcinoma. (PMID: 15987788)
