ADAMTSL5 encodes ADAMTS-like protein 5, a secreted extracellular matrix protein that binds heparin and microfibrils and is involved in extracellular matrix organization. It is located in the extracellular region, extracellular space, extracellular matrix, elastic fiber, and Golgi apparatus, placing it in the secretory route and at matrix-associated sites where it can engage extracellular structural components.
