背景信息
CD58, also known as LFA-3 (Lymphocyte Function-Associated Antigen 3), is a cell surface glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in immune cell interactions. It is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and acts as a ligand for CD2, primarily expressed in T and NK cells. The CD2-CD58 interaction is an important component of the immunological synapse that induces activation and proliferation of T/NK cells, triggering a series of intracellular signaling pathways. CD58 has been implicated in various diseases, particularly in the context of cancer. It acts as a tumor promotor in hepatocellular carcinoma via activating the AKT/GSK-3β/β-catenin pathway.
