背景介绍
DNAJC5B encodes cysteine string proteins (CSP) beta. CSPs belong to the DnaJ-like chaperone family and play an important role in regulated exocytosis in neurons and endocrine cells. Mammals express three CSP proteins, α, β, γ. In contrast to the CSPα which is ubiquitously expressed, CSPβ is restricted to testis and auditory hair cell neurons. The predicted MW of DNAJC5B is around 22 kDa, while some modified forms exist (PMID: 17034881)
