背景信息
Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 4 (TNFSF4) is also named as TXGP1, OX40L and CD252. And it belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. It is a kind of cytokines that binds to TNFRSF4. TNFSF4 can co-stimulate T-cell proliferation to produce cytokines. Recent evidence indicates that OX40-OX40L coupling is critical for cell survival and proliferation. While OX40 is expressed predominantly on T-lymphocytes early after antigen activation, OX40L is expressed on activated antigen presenting cells and endothelial cells within acute inflammatory environments. The tumour necrosis factor receptor OX40 (CD134) is activated by its cognate ligand OX40L (CD134L, CD252) and functions as a T cell co-stimulatory molecule. OX40L is found on antigen-presenting cells, activated T cells and others including lymphoid tissue inducer cells, some endothelia and mast cells. Expression of OX40L is increased after antigen presentation occurs and also in response to multiple other pro-inflammatory factors including CD28 ligation, CD40L ligation and interferon-gamma signaling. OX40L is a type II glycoprotein with a 23-amino-acid cytoplasmic tail and a 133-amino-acid extracellular domain. OX40L is a 34 kDa type II transmembrane protein.
