背景信息

IL-28A belongs to the type III IFNs (also designated IFN-λs) and functions as an interferon but is structurally similar to the IL-10 family. IL-28A is not constitutively expressed but can be induced in different hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells. IL-28A binds their cellular receptor complex and mainly activates signal transduction via the JAK/STAT pathway. IL-28A exerts an anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory role.
