Background Information
MTCO3 (cytochrome c oxidase subunit III) is a mitochondrial DNA encoded subunit of respiratory Complex IV which is located within the mitochondrial inner membrane and is the final enzyme of the electron transport chain of mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation.
