背景信息
Interleukin-12B (IL-12B), also known as the natural killer cell stimulatory factor 2, cytotoxic lymphocyte maturation factor 2, or p40, is a protein that plays a crucial role in the immune system. It is one of the subunits of the IL-12 cytokine, which is a heterodimeric protein composed of two subunits: IL-12A (p35) and IL-12B (p40). IL-12B is shared with IL-23, another cytokine, forming part of its structure. IL-12B is involved in stimulating the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) by T cells and NK cells, which is critical for cell-mediated immune responses against intracellular pathogens.
