背景信息
Interleukin 10 (IL-10) is an essential anti-inflammatory cytokine that plays important roles as a negative regulator of immune responses to microbial antigens. IL-10 is mainly secreted by macrophages, but also by T helper 1 (Th1) and Th2 lymphocytes, dendritic cells, cytotoxic T cells, B lymphocytes, monocytes and mast cells. It downregulates the expression of Th1 cytokines, MHC class II antigens, and co-stimulatory molecules on macrophages. It also enhances B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production. IL-10 can block NF-κB activity, and is involved in the regulation of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. IL-10 activity is mediated by the IL-10 receptor (IL-10R) which is a member of the class II cytokine receptor family.
