Recombinant ALDOC protein

Recombinant ALDOC protein is supplied in 25 mM Tris-HCl pH 8.0, 300 mM NaCl, 10% glycerol and 0.5 mM TCEP.

ALDOC (Aldolase, Fructose-Bisphosphate C) is a member of the class I fructose-biphosphate aldolase gene family. Expressed specifically in the hippocampus and Purkinje cells of the brain, the encoded protein is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the reversible aldol cleavage of fructose-1,6-biphosphate and fructose 1-phosphate to dihydroxyacetone phosphate and either glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate or glyceraldehyde, respectively.

Additional characterization such as enzyme kinetic activity assays, inhibitor screening or other biological activity assays may not have been performed for every product. Full length human ALDOC protein was expressed in E. coli cells (accession number NP_005156.1) with a C-terminal 6xHis Tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 40.5 kDa.

Recombinant proteins in solution are temperature sensitive and must be stored at -80°C to prevent degradation. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
