Recombinant ALDOA protein

Recombinant ALDOA protein is supplied in 25 mM Tris-HCl pH 8.0, 300 mM NaCl, 10% glycerol and 0.5 mM TCEP.

ALDOA (Aldolase, Fructose-Bisphosphate A) is a member of the class I fructose-bisphosphate aldolase protein family. The encoded protein is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the reversible conversion of fructose-1,6- bisphosphate to glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate. Three aldolase isozymes (A, B, and C), encoded by three different genes, are differentially expressed during development. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Glycogen Storage Disease XII, an autosomal recessive disorder associated with hemolytic anemia. Disruption of this gene also plays a role in the progression of multiple types of cancers.

Full length human ALDOA protein was expressed in E. coli cells (accession number NP_908930.1) with a C-terminal 6xHis Tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 40.5 kDa.

Recombinant proteins in solution are temperature sensitive and must be stored at -80°C to prevent degradation. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
